State XC Update: AHS’ Green repeats, FCHS and Blair boys take 3rd

Arlington senior Keelianne Green won her second-straight state cross-country championship Friday in Kearney, capping her two-year prep running career unbeaten across 5 kilometers.
The Eagle won her Class C state title race in 19:15.5, helping her girls team to eighth in the team standings. The AHS boys, meanwhile, were 12th.
The Fort Calhoun boys were third in Class C as the girls took seventh.
In Class B, the Blair boys earned a third-place finish, too. The BHS girls earned 11th.
In addition to Green, Arlington’s Hailey O’Daniel claimed her second state medal in seventh. Kolby Tighe led the Eagles in the boys’ race, taking 42nd.
Senior brothers Ely and Lance Olberding led Fort Calhoun’s state efforts at Kearney Country Club, finishing sixth and seventh individually.
The Pioneers’ Maelie Nelson medaled, too, claiming 11th in Class C as a freshman.
The Blair boys’ third-place result was a team effort. Ted Lueders (22nd), Calin O’Grady (24th) and Zac Keeling (30th) all finished in the top-30 to lead the showing.
Junior Reece Ewoldt, meanwhile, capped her first cross-country season with the Bears’ top result on the girls’ side — 28th.
The state championship teams in Class B were the Norris girls and Lexington boys, while the Gothenburg boys and Wayne girls won Class C championships.

Football Updates
Arlington, Blair and Fort Calhoun all closed their regular season football schedules Friday night, too. The Bears will move onto the playoffs, while both AHS and FCHS have concluded their campaigns.
Fort Calhoun 32, Boys Town 25: Austin Welchert (2), Grayson Bouwman (2) and Avery Quinlan scored touchdowns as the Pioneers finished the fall 4-5.
Elkhorn North 27, Blair 26: The Wolves outscored the Bears 27-6 during the fourth quarter, knocking BHS’ season record to 5-4.
Douglas County West 35, Arlington 21: Kaden Pittman scored two first half touchdowns, but the Eagles closed out their season with an 0-9 record.
