State Golf Update: Bears start Class B Championships

Blair Bears Mallory Stirek and Anna Moore began NSAA Class B State Golf Championships play Monday at Scotts Bluff Country Club in Scottsbluff.
Stirek, a junior, carded 93 strokes across her first 18 holes of the state tournament. She sunk three par putts and finished just four holes with a double bogey or worse to finish the day 12th.
Moore, a senior, finished her first state day with 97 swings, earning 21st at the midway point. She finished two holes with par shots.
Both Bears are three-time state qualifiers who will finish the first day inside the top-25 under coach Ross Udey's lead. State play continues 9 a.m. Tuesday with state championships to be determined at the conclusion of 18 holes for the 75-golfer field.
