12U Cubs take 3rd in Columbus
The age 12 and younger Blair Cubs baseball team earned third Sunday during a Columbus Mariners tournament.
The Cubs went 3-2 with wins against the Millard Mavericks, Gretna Green and Mariners. In the final game of the tourney, they lost 7-6 despite a Tucker Storjohann home run. Brevin Leggott and he had two hits apiece.
Before the weekend trip, Blair lost games to the Gretna Green and Bennington Blue. Austin Sanny had two hits against Bennington, while Ty Tessendorf hit a triple.
The Cubs next host their Bash tournament today through Sunday. They play 8 p.m. today at Zimmerman Field before a 4 p.m. game Saturday. Sunday is bracket play.

AYS hosts Mother's Day Tournament
Arlington Youth Sports (AYS) softball teams hosted a Mother's Day Tournament last weekend at Two Rivers Sports Complex.
The age 10 and younger, 12U and 14U teams all participated despite cool temperatures. High school players helped with field maintenance.
AYS softball coaches this spring and summer include Luke Brenn (age 16U and 18U), Kelly Spivey (14U), Lisa Stork (12U), Janelle Lorsch (10U) and Ashley Sass (8U), according to arlingtonyouthsports.org.
