All-Star games name participants
Recently graduated Washington County high school basketball players are set for all-star game action in the coming week.
Aiden Foreman of Arlington will play in two. First, the Hastings College recruit will play 7 p.m. Saturday during the Tom Dinsdale Auto/Striv Sports All-Star Basketball Game at Grand Island Central Catholic High School.
A week later on June 19, Foreman will take part in the 14th Annual Warrior All-Star Basketball Classic at Midland University's Wikert Event Center in Fremont. He'll be joined in the 8 p.m. game by Dark teammate Brant Hilzendeger of Fort Calhoun, who will join the Warrior team next school year.
The Pioneers' Abbie Anderson, meanwhile, will play in the 6 p.m. girls all-star game.

14U Grizzlies move to 20-6
The Blair Grizzlies age 14 and younger baseball team extended its winnings streak to 11 recently with six wins. The team, coached by Bubba Ratfield and Seth Raymond, is 20-6 overall.
Last Saturday, the Grizzlies swept a doubleheader against the Norfolk Grey, 6-4 and 7-1. Pitcher Dean Udey struck out 14 in the opener, while Chase Cottle and Mathew Mazon notched an RBI apiece.
In the second game, Cottle and Wyatt Fletcher combined for seven strikeouts. Jase Benson scored three times.
Prior to that sweep, the Grizzlies beat the Papio 2 11-6 on May 29, Keystone 18-2 and 12-6 on June 1 and 2, and the Bennington Black. Lincoln Kruse, Mazon, Jayson Ratfield and Cottle earned pitching wins.
Fletcher — who hit a three-run homer — Peyton Briggs, Benson, Abe Pavlik and Udey had extra-base hits during the four-game stretch, while Luke Raymond scored twice against the Bennington Black.

Dawgs start DCBL play 0-2
The Blair town team is 0-2 through two games on its Dodge County Baseball League schedule.
The Dawgs lost their opener 8-0 to the Wahoo Wombats on June 3 before a 15-1 setback against the Scribner Hogs last Sunday. They hosted North Bend on Thursday and next play Sunday at West Point. The Bombers currently lead the DCBL standings with a 2-0 record.

12U Cubs go 1-1
The age 12 and younger Blair Cubs baseball team went 1-1 in its two games last week.
After a 10-7 loss to the Gretna Green, the Cubs knocked off the Elkhorn Prime Gray on June 3, 13-5. Brevin Leggott led the victors with three hits, while Lane Christensen, Tucker Storjohann and Ty Tessendorf had two apiece.
Against Gretna, Storjohann hit a homer, while Tessendorf had two hits.
In other action, the 8U Blair Cubs Purple team went 3-1 to finish second during their home Bash tourney on Sunday.
