Sim “Tim” Beemer passed away peacefully on May 29th, 2025, three days before his 81st birthday, at his home in Pilot Point, TX.

Tim was the youngest of 12 children born to Sam and Mary (Smith) Beener of Conway, IA. He graduated from Bedford High School in 1963.

Tim was united in marriage to Linda Henry in August 1963. Their life was blessed with three children: Jana, Lance and Layne.

In 1991, Tim retired from the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad. After many years of living in various locations in Iowa and Nebraska, Tim and Linda returned to Taylor County in 1998 and enjoyed living on an acreage between Conway and Bedford.

In 2020, they sold their home in Bedford and enjoyed traveling in their fifth-wheel camper, often with Gary and Marsha Swartz, until Tim’s health made it necessary to settle down in Pilot Point, TX, near family.

In addition to traveling, Tim enjoyed spending time visiting with friends and family and playing games with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Tim attended The Heartland Church in Carrollton, TX.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents: Sim and Mary; brothers Virgil (Joe), Bryce (Spike), Dean and Dale; sisters Beth Beemer, Betty Boyer, Joyce Ridnour and Mary Lou (Lu) Scholfield; in-laws Vivian Beemer, Beverly Beemer, Marvin Boyer, Ralph Ridnour, Lloyd Schofield; father-in-law Volley Henry; mother-in-law Ruth Henry and brother-in-law David Henry.

He is survived by his loving wife, Linda, of Pilot Point, TX; his daughter Jana (John) Hamke of Oak Point, TX; sons Lance (Kathie) of Omaha, NE, and Layne (Kristy) of Blair, NE; grandchildren Brooke (Jonathan) Koning, Lucas Johnsen, Jessica (Caleb) Thornton, Macartney Beemer, Cale Beemer, Katie (Jake) Tierney, Kennedy (Caleb) Beemer and Reese Beemer; great-grandchildren Jordan Rhoads, Madison Rhoads, Brittyn Koning, Nolan Thornton, Cohen Thornton, Declan Thornton, Anistyn Thornton and Tucker Tierney; siblings Sally Hensley, Alice Ann Miller and Jerry (Jean) Beemer; in-laws Betty Jean Beemer, Zonette Beemer, Joanne (Loren) Pierce, Pam Nickell and Glenda Henry. In addition, he is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
