Sherry Anderson, age 77 of Kennard, Nebraska, passed away on Jan. 13, 2025, at House of Hope Memory Care in Omaha.
Visitation will be held at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home, 444 S. 17th St., Blair, Nebraska, on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Grace United Methodist Church, 418 W. Second St., Kennard, Nebraska, on Friday, January 17, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. Graveside services will follow in the Kennard Cemetery.
Sherry was born on Aug. 3, 1947, in Blair, Nebraska, to Sam and Lleanna (Matzen) Wright of Kennard. She attended Kennard, Blair and Arlington Schools. In 1964 she was united in marriage, and to this union four children were born: Gene, Tracy, Brandon and Dana. She was later divorced and remarried in 1981, and to this union Danielle was born.
Sherry had various jobs throughout her life, including waitressing, managerial work, secretarial work, and a short time at Valmont Industries. But her main career was working at Western Electric until her retirement.
Over the years Sherry enjoyed ceramics, cooking, antiques, camping, gardening and attending demolition derbies. In recent years she enjoyed spending her time at her home in Kennard, sitting on her porch, watching and feeding the squirrels and birds. Sherry had a lifetime love of butterflies and dachshunds. Her love of music included Celine Dion, Stevie Nicks, The Eagles and Yanni. Sherry was a longtime member of the Kennard Fire Auxiliary.
Sherry was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law Patty Wright.
She is survived by her children; Gene (Vicky) Lorsch of Omaha, Tracy (Don) Adams of Kennard, Brandon Lorsch of Blair, Dana Lorsch of Fremont and Danielle (John) Anderson of Blair; 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; brothers: Sam Wright Jr., Maurie (Sherry) Wright and Monte (Mary) Wright, many nieces and nephews, and lifelong friend Sandra Truedell Dillon.
