The Fort Calhoun baseball team outhit Plattevew on Friday at Buffalo Park in Springfield, but the Trojans picked up the one-run win.
PHS improved to 6-13 with the 4-3 victory, while coach Roy Prauner's squad fell to 7-10. The Pioneers are 2-3 in their last five games with wins against Branched Oak and Thurston-Cuming County.
Ty Hallberg led FCHS in defeat with two RBIs, while Justin Myer had one. Zach Faucher and Tylan Conner combined for six innings on the mound, totaling three strikeouts.
The Pioneers were scheduled to play West Point GACC/Scribner-Snyder on Monday before Thursday's start to the Class B-1 District Tournament in Hastings. Fort Calhoun starts postseason play with a noon game against Omaha Concordia on Duncan Field.
