Patty Lea (Dein) Wright was born March 29, 1949, in Omaha, to Larry Thomas and Winnifred Claire (Sachs) Dein. The family lived in Blair until 1967 when they moved to the farm. Pat graduated from Blair High School in 1967.
Pat and Samuel August Wright were married March 25, 1972, at Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church in Omaha. To this union, two children were born: Waylon and Bree.
Pat was a talented artist and she loved to draw and paint. Many of the Christmas cards were caricatures of the family. She loved to decorate for the holidays and cherished her long-time collection of Christmas ornaments. She loved to make and collect porcelain dolls. She loved animals, especially horses, chickens, cats, and dogs. She also loved plants and birds, especially hummingbirds.
Pat enjoyed coffee and lunches with family along with spending time with her sister and best friend Lynda. The weekly lunch with aunts and cousins were something Pat looked forward to. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. She always tried to make you feel like part of the family and had a warm smile and a big heart.
Pat loved her children and grandchildren more than anything. They provided her great joy. Pat was the sweetest mom and grandma and gave the best hugs; she would give a hug when she said hello and always hugged goodbye.
Pat passed away Oct. 17, 2022, in Blair. She was preceded in death by her parents, Larry and Winnie Dein and brother Tom Dein. She is survived by her husband Sam Wright; son Waylon (Stephanie) Wright; daughter Bree (Danny) Tranmer; sister Lynda (Randy) Truhlsen; brother Jim (Denise) Dein; sister-in-law Lois Dein; grandchildren: Reilly Johnson, Brenner Wright, Maggie and Cole Tranmer; special aunt Donna Seevers; many nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Oct. 25 from 5 to 8 p.m., at Campbell Aman Funeral Home. Pat’s ashes will be spread in the mountains.
