Installation of the new slides at the Blair Municipal Pool have begun.
The purchase of the double flume slides were approved by the Blair City Council at its March 9 meeting. They were purchased from Summit at a total cost of $59,000.
City of Blair employees were working to install the slides last week.
CJ Heaton, assistant superintendent of cemetery and parks, said there were modifications from the original design.
“The changes were a result of conversations with the manufacturer and the State of Nebraska on what would be allowed,” he said.
City Administrator Rod Storm said once the slides are installed they will need to be inspected by the state before they can be put into service.
