Joan E. Christensen, age 60, of Fort Calhoun, passed away April 1, 2022, at Nebraska Medicine, surrounded by family. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at 10:30 a.m., at Campbell Aman Funeral Home in Blair. Graveside service will follow in the Blair Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at Campbell Aman Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. with an Eastern Star service at 7 p.m.
Joan was born March 23, 1962, the daughter of Herbert and Dorothy (Jessen) Hansen. She attended country school before attending and graduating from Blair High School in 1980. On July 25, 1980, she was united in marriage to Russell G. Christensen at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Orum.
Joan will always be remembered for being a good mother and grandmother; her children and grandchildren were her greatest joy.
Joan is survived by her husband Russell; children: Vicki (Matt) Smith and Herbert Christensen; grandchildren: Courtney, Matthew, Dustin and Stetson Smith; brother Steven (Carol) Hansen, sister Pamela Boyd, sister-in-law Judy Hansen, mother-in-law Susie Christensen, brother-in-law Rod (Melody) Christensen, sister-in-law Ronda (Dan) Zoucha; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Paul Hansen, father-in-law Russell M. Christensen and brother-in-law Roland Christensen.
