Blair wins triangular on Senior Night
With underclassmen Easton Chaffee on their side, senior Blair Bears Jake Stirek, Cole Truhlsen, Cole Wilkins and Ben Hagedorn were victorious Thursday at River Wilds Golf Cub.
BHS took 179 swings on Senior Night, besting second-place Tekamah-Herman and third-place Elkhorn North by four and five strokes, respectively.
Chaffee shot his team's nine-hole low score, finishing with just 40 swings. Stirek took 45, while Truhlsen carded a 46. Hagedorn added a 48 and Wilkins shot a 49 on his home course.
Elkhorn North's Harrison Weddell shot a 37, but it wasn't enough to push the Wolves bast the Tigers or the hometown Bears.
Coach Ross Udey's team also won in the junior varsity team standings, doing so by 16 strokes. Luke Ladwig shot a 51, while Tyler Lantry carded a 57. Landen Oppliger and Eli Bush left River Wilds with 59s, and Connor Wayman shot a 61.
BHS' Nicky Rothlisberger (54) and Luke Valasek (66) played nine holes, too.

Eagles, Pioneers compete at Stone Creek
The Arlington and Fort Calhoun golf teams competed last Wednesday during the Bennington Invitational at Stone Creek Golf Course.
The Eagles finished fifth with 365 strokes. Eddie Rosenthal led coach Scott Parson's team with an 18-hole 85, which included just 40 swings on the front nine. The highlight was a birdie on hole No. 8 as he claimed medaled seventh overall.
Jayden Thompson carded a 92, while both Josh Iossi and Josh Hamre shot 94s. Austin Smutz took 97 swings to round out the AHS team score.
Fort Calhoun, meanwhile, finished with 485 swings. Vinny Bonacci carded a 117 to lead the Pioneers, while Landon Miller shot a 118 and Jayden Miller had 122 strokes. Dylan Boldt finished with 128 swings and Ethan Dye had 139.
