Gertrude "Trudy" Mary Truhlsen, age 84 of Blair, passed away October 29, 2020. Private graveside services will be held. A video of the service will be available to view beginning at 1:00PM Wednesday November 4, 2020 Campbell Aman's Facebook page.
Trudy was born on June 5, 1936 in Granville, Iowa the daughter of Raymond and Mary Ann Reining. In 1943 Trudy moved to Blair with her family and attended and graduated from Blair High School. She was working at Sampson Drug Store when she met Lyle Truhlsen. The couple were married on June 29, 1958 at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Trudy worked for the Blair Telephone Company before operating her own in-home daycare. After her children had grown to school age, Trudy began working for the Blair Community Schools, beginning at North School and then at the Administrative building. She retired after 38 years with the school. Trudy loved attending her children's, grandchildren's and great grandchildren's activities. Over the years, Trudy cross-stitched countless baby blankets for her family and friends. She will always be remembered by many for her loving and welcoming spirit.
Trudy is survived by her husband Lyle; children: Ann (Dave) Kuhl, Bob (Jennifer) Truhlsen; grandchildren: Steve (Nicole) Kuhl, Jon (Jalisha Johnson) Kuhl, Cale (Fiancé Jamie Bullington), and Addi Truhlsen; great grandchildren: Zoey and Tanner Kuhl; brother Jerry Reining; sister-in-law Phyllis Reining; brothers-in-law: Dean Ogle and Kenny Truhlsen
She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Len Reining, Loren Reining; sisters-in-law: Faye Reining, Winnie Ogle and Norma Truhlsen.
