Gailanne Rhoades, beloved wife, sister, and friend, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on April 12, 2021. She is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Ed; brother, Michael Lehrkamp of Blair; sisters: Susan (Dean) Mancuso of McAlister, Okla., and Megan (Ed) Lehrkamp of Castro Valley, Calif.; niece Erica (Brian) Richardson of Minden, La., and many extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her father Merlin (Larry) Lehrkamp; mother Wanda (Coulter) Lehrkamp; mother-in-law Kathryn E. Bauer; and nephew Adam Siemer.

After graduating from high school in Carroll, Iowa, she worked at First Data as a key punch operator. She went on to work at First National Bank. In the summer of 1988 she worked construction, then she worked at the Specialty Clinic at Memorial Community Health Service before moving on to Mutual of Omaha.

Gail was dedicated to her family and friends; always putting their well-being ahead of her own. She was always there for those who needed her. Gail’s love of spending time with family and friends was evident whether she was hosting holiday meals at home or hanging out playing cards, cribbage or bowling with friends. Her loyalty and depth of caring for everyone in her life will be remembered. Her legacy carries on in those who loved her.

She was blessed with the love and dedication of her partner in life, Ed. She spent her last days surrounded by the love of her family and friends, near and far. She loved life to the fullest and gave it her all.

Services will be held Friday, April 16 at 10 a.m., at Campbell Aman Funeral Home in Blair. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, beginning at 9 a.m. Graveside services will be held Saturday, April 17, at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll, Iowa, at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Josie Harper Hospice House or VNA Hospice.
