The Blair, Arlington and Fort Calhoun football teams combined for just 24 points Friday night, dropping each of their games by double-digits.
The Bears lost to Class B No. 1 Bennington at home, while Fort Calhoun dropped a home contest to Class C1 No. 5 Ashland-Greenwood. Arlington fell at a traditional power, Wahoo, too.

BHS loses 45-7
Special teams miscues cost Blair early as it lost to the Badgers, 45-7. The visitors scored their first points on an 88-yard Gunnar Lym punt return before adding 39 more prior to the Bears’ lone touchdown.
Down 45-0, BHS quarterback Bode Soukup finally connected with junior receiver Brady Brown on a 32-yard touchdown pass with 1:52 left in the fourth quarter. Kicker Sergio Dominguez added the extra point, but the Bears fell to 4-2 in defeat.
Coach Bryan Soukup’s team competes against Elkhorn next Friday, Oct. 7.

Fort Calhoun falls to 2-4
The FCHS football team dropped its third-straight game Friday night, falling 40-10 to Ashland-Greenwood.
Austin Welchert scored the Pioneers’ first touchdown on a 3-yard quarterback keeper with less than a minute left in the game. Kicker Jose Soriano, meanwhile, scored the home team’s first points at the end of the first half, hitting a 42-yard field goal.
Fort Calhoun (2-4 overall) next plays at Omaha Roncalli on Thursday, Oct. 6.

Eagles remain winless
The Arlington football team lost 61-7 at Wahoo on Friday night.
Darren Olsen scored the Eagles’ lone touchdown on a highlight play — a 96-yard interception return — during the early stages of the final quarter.
The Eagles are 0-6, but host their homecoming game next Friday against winless Schuyler.
