Brant Hilzendeger and Zane Schwarz combined for 40 points Tuesday as the Fort Calhoun boys basketball team earned a 23-point road win.
The Pioneers topped Omaha Brownell-Talbot 63-40, outscoring the Raiders 33-22 during the second half to pull away. The win pushed coach TJ O'Conner's team to 5-7 this season, while Brownell-Talbot fell to 4-7.
Hilzendeger led all scorers with 22 points on nine made field goals, while Schwarz had 18 points with four made from beyond the 3-point arc. Harrison Schmitt added nine points and Michael Shirley had six as FCHS picked up its second victory of the new year.

Raiders edge FCHS girls, 33-31
The Fort Calhoun girls basketball team's offense went cold Tuesday during the fourth quarter as Brownell-Talbot earned a 33-31 come-from-behind home victory.
The Pioneers led the Raiders 29-26 going into the fourth quarter, but were outscored 7-2 to drop to 2-12 this season. The home team, meanwhile, improved to 5-8 with the victory.
Bria Bench led coach Marty Plum's FCHS squad with 14 points. The freshman made four 2-point shots, three free throws and one 3-pointer to tally her total.
Pioneers senior Kenzie Hansen, meanwhile, hit a first period shot from long range and finished with five points in defeat.
