Former Blair AD trial set for October

Former Blair High School Activities Director Daniel Hutsell is scheduled for trial Oct. 18 at 8:30 a.m. at the Roman L. Hruska United States Courthouse in Omaha.

Hutsell, 41, pleaded not guilty to three counts of knowingly distributing videos of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct on March 19, Aug. 3 and Sept. 12–13 in 2021, and three counts of possession of child pornography.

If found guilty and convicted, Hutsell faces up to 20 years imprisonment.

Hutsell was indicted by a grand jury in the U.S. District Court of Nebraska July 19.

He was released from Douglas County Corrections following his plea hearing on several conditions, including no access to the internet unless searching for employment under the supervision of his parents, whom he resides with in Omaha; no contact with minors under the age of 18 other than his children; and he cannot travel outside Douglas, Sarpy or Washington counties.
