FLOODPLAIN NOTICE Notice is hereby given by the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) that a grant application is being made for construction of new water transmission main in the city of Blair, Washing County, Nebraska 68008. Design is currently underway that will increase system’s daily flow from 20 Million Gallons per Day (MGD) to 30 MGD. Increased capacity will serve all users in the community and a bio-refinery facility. The project will occur approximately 4,000 feet south of the Blair Water Treatment Plant, 742 Fairview Dr, Blair, NE 68008; the new transmission main will run north-south from Fairview Dr to Grant St. Project information is available for review at Blair City Hall, 218 S 16th Street, Blair, NE 68008; phone (402) 426-4191. A determination has been made by the EDA, in accordance with the President’s Executive Order 11988, that portions of the project will be in the 100-year floodplain and that there is no practicable alternative. The project has been designed to minimize the risks of loss of life and property to flood and storm damage and minimize adverse impacts in flood plain value and function.
