Dead even through three periods, the Douglas County West girls basketball team outscored Fort Calhoun 17-11 during Friday's fourth quarter.
The final 8 minutes delivered a 45-39 Falcon home win, while it gave the Pioneers their third loss. Coach Marty Plum's squad is 1-3 overall.
FCHS trailed 10-8 after the first period, but outscored DC West 15-9 during the second for a 23-19 halftime advantage. Tess Skelton and Kenzie Hansen led the Pioneers with five points apiece through 16 minutes, finishing with nine and eight through 32, respectively.
The Falcons responded to their deficit at the break with a 9-5 third quarter, tying the score before earning the win during the fourth.
Fort Calhoun next hosts Yutan tonight.
