FCHS closes home schedule with 3-0 sweep

Volleyball team is 12-17 overall

The Fort Calhoun volleyball team celebrated Parent's Night and its senior class Tuesday during a winning home effort.
The Pioneers swept Conestoga 3-0, picking up 25-23, 25-19 and 25-17 set wins. They are 12-17 this season, while the Cougars dropped to 7-18.
The match was three FCHS seniors' last at home. Grace Genoways, Olivia Quinlan and Tilden Nottlemann are all varsity contributors.
Entering Tuesday's match, Genoways was second on the Calhoun team in kills with 108. She had a team-best 42 total blocks, too.
Quinlan, meanwhile, had 46 service aces going into the Conestoga match. The setter had 68 kills, 190 digs and 355 assists.
Through 73 sets, Nottlemann had 18 aces and 110 digs, too.
The Pioneers were set to compete in a regular-season ending triangular Thursday at Logan View, but next compete during the Monday and Tuesday Class C1-3 Subdistrict Tournament. The location and match times of the tourney were unavailable as of press time, but the opposition — Boys Town, Douglas County West, Omaha Concordia and Omaha Roncalli — was.
