The Fort Calhoun boys basketball team closed out their regular season in familiar territory.
Playing on their home floor Thursday and Friday, the Pioneers went 0-2 against Plattsmouth and North Bend Central. The 60-44 Friday loss to the Tigers dropped FCHS' record to 8-13 going into the postseason.
Brant Hilzendeger led the Pioneers with 13 points, while Zane Schwarz notched 10.
Fort Calhoun next plays tonight during the first round of the Class C1 Subdistrict 4 Tournament at Arlington High School. The fourth-seeded Pioneers play No. 1 Omaha Concordia at 6 p.m.

Pioneers fall to Devils
Despite trailing 24-22 at halftime, Plattsmouth won Thursday's game at FCHS, 51-45.
The Devils outscored coach O'Conner's Pioneers 29-21 during the second half to pull out the six-point victory. Six-foot-8 Hayden Stromsodt led all scorers with 18.
Fort Calhoun, meanwhile, trailed 10-5 through one period before building its two-point halftime edge. After Grayson Bouwman's 3 to start the second quarter, senior Brant Hilzendeger scored the next nine FCHS points. He finished with 12 for the 8-minute stretch as the Pioneers outscored Plattsmouth 19-12.
The momentum didn't hold, though, as the Devils left victors.
