Pioneers win Monday, 6-3

The Fort Calhoun baseball team beat West Point GACC/Scribner-Snyder on Monday and lost to Platte Valley on Tuesday.
The Pioneers beat West Point on the road, 6-3. Coach Roy Prauner's team scored runs in each of the four final innings to pick up the win with 10 total hits.
FCHS' Tylan Conner finished with a team-high three hits, while Ty Hallberg struck out four batters in relief to pick up the pitching victory. Conner then closed the game out as the Pioneers picked up their fourth victory of the season.
The next night in Ashland, Calhoun lost a 5-4 game. Conner hit a two-run, first-inning homer, but the Pioneers fell to 4-6 overall this season.
Platte Valley, meanwhile, improved to 6-5 with the victory.
The Pioneers next play in the Nebraska Capitol Conference Tournament. FCHS starts competition Saturday in Valparaiso.
