Elkhorn Mount Michael scored early and often Monday, besting the Fort Calhoun baseball team 14-1.
The home loss dropped the Pioneers' season record to 3-4, while the Knights improved to 5-3.
Mount Michael scored four runs during the first inning, four in the second, and three during both the third and fourth frames, pulling away before coach Roy Prauner's team could plate its first base runner.
Austin Welchert eventually notched that RBI on a single off of the Knights pitcher's leg during the bottom half of the fourth. Jake Seina singled and Tristan Fuhrman hit a ground-rule double, setting up the Pioneer scoring opportunity, which still left them 13 runs short.
FCHS batters Ty Hallberg, Zach Faucher and Tylan Conner also notched hits, but it wasn't enough.
Defensively, Seina struck out three Mount Michael batters, while Justin Myer tallied two.
The Pioneers were scheduled to play Central City/Fullerton/Centura on Thursday and will next compete against West Point GACC/Scribner-Snyder/WPB on Monday.
