Six Arlington Eagles and six Fort Calhoun Pioneers were recognized recently with the release of the All-Nebraska Capitol Conference softball teams.
The Eagles' Hailey Brenn and Cadie Robinson were Washington County's first-team representation. Brenn capped her senior year with a 15-13 pitching record. She had a 3.27 ERA and 143 strikeouts this fall, while also batting at a .390 average with three homers and 25 RBIs.
Robinson, a junior AHS catcher, hit at a .341 average with two homers and 17 RBIs.
Fort Calhoun's Katie Barta and Arlington's Emery McIntosh were on the NCC's second team. Barta capped her Pioneers career with a .390 batting average and 23 hits, including seven for extra bases. She also had nine RBIs.
McIntosh, meanwhile, worked her way into the lead-off spot during her junior season. She hit an Eagle-best .409 with 27 hits and five stolen bases.
Three Arlington and five FCHS standouts also received honorable mention. Gracie Herman, who hit a team-high six homers during her senior season, represented the Eagles alongside teammates Kiersten Taylor and Hannah Stahlecker.
Kaylee Taylor, Anna Taylor, Sam Brewer, Maddie Reed and Addie Benoit, meanwhile, made the NCC list from Fort Calhoun. Kaylee Taylor had the Pioneers' top batting average — .407 — while Benoit was the team leader in RBIs as a freshman with 16.
