DISTRICT GOLF UPDATE: Chaffee, Rosenthal earn state golf qualifications

Blair plays home course, AHS and FCHS travel to Oakland

Two Washington County high school golfers extended their seasons Monday and Tuesday during district competition.
Easton Chaffee of Blair won the Class B-2 Tournament on Monday at River Wilds Golf Club. He shot an even-par 72, earning his second trip to the Class B state tourney.
Arlington’s Eddie Rosenthal, meanwhile, claimed his first state berth Tuesday during the Class C-2 Tournament at Oakland Golf Club. He was sixth overall with 80 strokes to earn his spot.
Overall, Blair finished fifth in the B-2 tourney with 376 strokes. Columbus Lakeview, Elkhorn Mount Michael and Columbus Scotus earned team berths to state with 342, 344 and 358, respectively.
In Oakland, Arlington finished with 388 strokes. Fort Calhoun, meanwhile, carded 434 with Dylan Boldt shooting a team-low 95.
Tekamah-Herman (318 swings), Yutan (343) and North Bend Central (350) earned the C-2 team qualifications.
Chaffee’s Class B state tournament begins 9 a.m. Mountain Time on Tuesday, May 23, in Gering.
Rosenthal’s Class C state tourney starts 9 a.m. Tuesday, May 23 in Columbus.
