Diane D. Konfrst, age 78 of Blair, Nebraska, passed away February 4, 2025. Visitation will be on Saturday, February 22nd, from 1-4 pm.
Diane was born April 19, 1946, in Freeport, Illinois, the daughter of Lester and Doris Kruse. She was raised in Lanark, Illinois, and graduated from high school there. Diane raised her children in Lanark, Illinois, and later moved to Blair, Nebraska, in 1974, where she built her own home. In 1977 she was united in marriage to Frank Konfrst in Blair, Nebraska, where the couple continued to reside and raise their children and horses.
Diane spent her entire life around horses, enjoying going to shows, trail rides and parades. Over the years Diane worked at Vickers for some time before her career at Union Pacific, which she retired from.
Diane is survived by her husband, Frank; children: Steve McKenna and Dave (Bridgette) McKenna; step-children: Beccie Newberry, Wayne Konfrst, and Greg (Sherri) Konfrst; grandchildren: Ashley, Chelsea, Paige, Brittany, Devin, Matt, Shane, Sean, Sami, Erica, Adam, Josh, D.J., and Justin; 17 great-grandchildren; sister Darlene; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Darryl and Duane.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to MSForward-Omaha, The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, or The American Quarter Horse Foundation.
