The Washington County high school wrestling season resumes Thursday with all three schools competing on the road.
The Blair Bears will contend with Gretna in a 6 p.m. dual, while Arlington is attending an Oakland-Craig triangular at the same time. The Fort Calhoun Pioneers — who competed at Creighton Prep last week — will get two duals in, too, competing at a 6 p.m. Louisville triangular.
Coach Erich Warner's Bears are the No. 4 tournament team in Class B, according to the latest Nebraska Scholastic Wrestling Coaches Association rankings. Their also the second-ranked dual squad with a 16-1 record.
Senior Charlie Powers, a 145-pounder who won his 100th career match last month, is BHS' leader in wins with 22 to go with just two losses, while freshman 106-pounder Hudson Loges is 21-1. Kaden Sears (17-6 overall) and Livai Opetaia (15-8) are tied for the team lead in pins with 13 apiece.
Luke Frost (18-6), Landon Templar (13-1), Yoan Camejo (15-5), Jesse Loges (17-4), Brock Templar (12-1), Atticus Dick (16-10), Tyson Brown (10-9) and Seagan Packett-Trisdale (16-7) also have double-digit victories for the Bears, according to trackwrestling.com.
Collin Burdess, meanwhile, leads coach Doug Hart's Arlington unit with a 13-4 record. Trey Hill is 9-6 at 113 pounds, while Kolton Gilmore is 8-6 at 170.
The Eagles' Aiden McDuffee is 5-0 at 106, while both Trinton McDuffee (5-3) and Ian Buckley (5-3) having winning records, too.
Fort Calhoun brothers Ely and Lance Olberding are ranked in the top-five of their weight classes under coach Drew Welchert. Before the Creighton Prep tourney, Ely was 10-1 at 126 pounds and Lance was 8-1 at 132.
Senior 170-pounder Grant Nixon had eight wins for the Pioneers, too, while Jesse Hartline had seven. Tristen Hansen (2-0) and Peyton Lincoln (3-2) had winning records as well, according to trackwrestling.com.
