High school basketball players from Blair, Arlington and Fort Calhoun were recently recognized as honorable mention athletes by the Omaha World-Herald.
Blair boys to make the Class B list were Luke Ladwig, Cade Ulven and Kip Tupa. BHS girls noted by the publication were Makayla Baughman, Ella Ross and Mya Larson.
Arlington's Aiden Foreman, Dustin Kirk and Colby Grefe, meanwhile, made the World-Herald's Class C1 honorable mention list. So, too, did Eagles Kailynn Gubbels and Kylee Bruning.
Brant Hilzendeger, Zane and Casen Schwarz, Tess Skelton and Bria Bench were the Fort Calhoun basketball players listed in the C1 category.
The Omaha newspaper's All-Nebraska first boys team honorees were Chucky Hepburn and Frankie Fidler of Bellevue West, Hunter Sallis and Saint Thomas of Millard North, and Isaac Traudt of Grand Island.
The girls' first-teamers were Taylor McCabe of Fremont, Allison Weidner of Humphrey St. Francis, Alex Markowski of Lincoln Pius X, Grace Cave of Weeping Water and Britt Prince of Elkhorn North.
