Arlington senior Josh Miller earned his second straight championship opportunity Saturday afternoon in Omaha.
The 2020 state champion will contend for another title 7 p.m. Saturday during the NSAA State Wrestling Championships. He earned his opportunity with a 4-0 semifinals decision against Servando Gonzalez of O'Neill, overcoming a bloody cut above his right eye.
Three more Washington County wrestlers earned Class C medals during the afternoon session. While Miller will contend for a title, 145-pound Arlington senior Hunter Gilmore claimed third in a dramatic 2-0 win.
Fort Calhoun brothers Ely and Lance Olberding, meanwhile, claimed sixth and fourth at 113 and 120 pounds, respectively.
The Eagles and Pioneers were joined by fellow Washington County wrestlers Trevor Cooley, Grant Nixon and Trey McCoy at the state tournament this week. Those accomplished competitors finished short of a podium spot.
