Little girls in matching green shirts huddled and hugged at home plate June 30 to celebrate their tournament title at the Blair Youth Sports Complex.
The grades 2-3 Jennings Plant Services team won the C Division, while two more lineups — Blair Repaired and KRW Construction — earned Blair Youth Softball Association Modified bracket championships in A and B, respectively.
The Jennings slow-pitch team in green closed out play under the lights June 30, winning back-to-back elimination games against Edward Jones. It won those games by a combined score of 10-0, claiming the C Division clincher 4-0.
The KRW Construction squad, meanwhile, earned their B title (grades 4-6) with an unbeaten tournament record. It topped Wendy's Nails in the final, 6-4, holding off a late rally.
A day earlier, June 29, the Blair Repaired lineup won an all-or-nothing final against AJ's Repair in the A Division (grades 7-12). It earned the championship victory 2-1.
