A high-speed chase from Burt County resulted in one person being injured after an accident Thursday in the roundabout at state Highway 133 and U.S. 30.

Washington County and Burt County sheriffs offices, Tekemah police, as well as Blair police and rescue responded to the accident around 7:50 a.m.

“At 7:34 .m. our deputy sheriff was dispatched about two miles south of Decatur to a woman sitting behind the wheel of a vehicle who was unresponsive,” Burt County Chief Deputy James Buck said. “She would not produce any identification, left the scene and did several attempts at hitting other vehicles on the road. We did stop sticks about two miles north of Tekamah. She hit those two stop sticks, but still continued on at about 90 miles per hour.”
