After more than a week of off days, Blair softball sophomore Nessa McMillen returned to the batter's box and hit three homers against Norris to start the Bears' Saturday at the Lincoln Southeast Invite.
Coach Jennifer Fangmeier's team beat the Class B No. 7 Titans 13-5, but finished 1-2 in tournament play after losses to a pair of ranked Class A squads.
First, though, No. 9 BHS (15-10 overall) came back from a 5-0 deficit to topple Norris. McMillen cleared the fence three times with her two-run homer during the fifth inning giving the Bears a 6-5 advantage.
Next, Blair scored four runs during the bottom of the final inning of a 6-4 loss to No. 10 North Platte. The Bulldogs scored six runs during the top of the fifth frame and held on despite another McMillen RBI knock and a three-run home run by the Bears' Tessa Villotta.
Finally, in the nightcap, Blair dropped a 12-1 game to Class A No. 4 Lincoln East. The Spartans scored two runs during the first inning, two in the second and six during the third to earn control of the Saturday night game under the lights.
McMillen, again, recorded the RBI on a third-inning double that scored Reese Beemer.
The Bears were scheduled to compete Monday at Wahoo Neumann before Thursday's 6:30 p.m. home game against Bennington.
