The Blair Senior Legion baseball team's inability to score runs last week compounded Saturday with back-to-back losses to Gering at Vets Field.
The Bears scored a single run in the afternoon doubleheader, falling 7-0 and 4-1 to their visitors. The losses were Post 154's fifth and sixth in a row as it fell to 5-15 overall.
The Bears went scoreless through their first seven innings against Gering before taking an early 1-0 advantage in the second game with Nolan Osterhaus on the mound. They were unable to hold that lead, however, surrendering four runs during the sixth and seventh innings against a team that improved to 16-5 with the two wins.
Blair's Canton Lippincott and Conner O'Neil each notched two hits during the three-run loss.
During their six-game losing skid, the Post 154 Seniors have scored just nine total runs. They scored just three against a pair of Omaha teams earlier in the week.

Bears struggle against Omaha teams
Omaha Gross faced little resistance at home Wednesday, dominating the Blair Bears 14-2 in just five innings. The next night, Omaha North topped the Senior Bears 13-1 in six.
First, though, Gross jumped out to a fast start with six runs in the first inning and never looked back. It finished with 12 hits, eight walks and two batters who were hit by Post 154 pitches.
The Bears tried to talk and cheer themselves back into the game from the dugout, but it didn't work. They managed just two runs on four hits and six walks.
Lippincott notched a one-out double in the fourth inning, cutting Gross' advantage to 10-1 when he later scored on an error. TJ Swaney then tallied a fifth-inning RBI, plating Bo Nielsen, before the game ended on Blair's third strikeout.
Four Post 154 pitchers, meanwhile, tallied three strikeouts across four innings. Ethan Baessler stood out in his Senior Legion pitching debut, earning back-to-back outs including a strikeout to close the fourth frame.
Against North, Swaney left the pitching mound in the fifth with six runs allowed. He struck out three as the Bears tallied just five hits for the 12-run loss at Vets Field.
Tyler Andersen doubled, while Nielsen, O'Neil, Kaden Fletcher and Dylan Swanson singled in defeat.

Blair Juniors are 9-3
After a 9-1 start to the season, the Blair Junior Legion baseball team lost its first two games of an Omaha South tournament. On Saturday, the Bears were defeated 6-5 by their hosts.
Post 154 lost just its second game of the season in the tourney opener a day earlier. Waverly won a 7-3 Friday bout, scoring all seven of its runs in innings four-through-six. Eli Morgan had two RBIs in defeat.
On Wednesday, however, the Juniors picked up their ninth win in five innings, routing Omaha Gross 11-2. Kaden Sears notched four RBIs, while Joe Rodriguez had three and Morgan notched two. Lee Chavez-Lara earned the pitching win, striking out three in four innings of work.
