Arlington talent earns top finishes
The Fremont trapshooting squad is filled with Arlington talent this spring.
Blake Japp, Lane Johannes, Lily Stonehocker, Jake Bartosh, Kole Dowling, Connor Flesner, Alaina Schwedhelm, Kayla Schwedhelm, Cade Arnett and Sam Arnett are among the Senior Division competitors, while Wyatt Widman, Tate Johannes and Wyatt Flesner are on the Junior team.
During their first shoot of the season March 13 in Omaha, Arlington High School student Cade Arnett claimed first-place honors in the high individual handicap event, hitting 48 of his 50 targets with shotgun blasts. Bartosh, Johannes and Arnett were also members of the first-place handicap team championships.
Dowling, meanwhile, was a member of the second-place Fremont team — which also included Fort Calhoun's Kaitlin Smith — competing in the 16-yard team event.
Fremont results from the second ECTC shoot last weekend were unavailable as of press time, but the trapshooting season continues through the April 24th Gayle Hanshaw All-Conference Shoot in Lincoln.
