A Blair man was injured in a single-vehicle accident after swerving to miss a deer Saturday morning along U.S. Highway 75 south of Blair.

Washington County sheriff's deputies and Blair Fire and Rescue responded to the crash at approximately 5:24 a.m. near DeSoto.

Capt. Aaron Brensel said a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by Christopher B. Holmstedt, 37, was headed north on Highway 75 when it crossed the center line to the left and struck a tree.

Holmstedt told deputies he swerved to miss a deer. He also complained of being tired. He was transported to the emergency room at Memorial Community Hospital and Health System.
