The Blair girls track and field team notched 14 top-three finishes Thursday at Schuyler High School.
Of those 14 results, five were event wins.
In summation, the Bears dominated. They won by 46 team points, besting second-place David City Aquinas 143-97 during the seven-team Fred Arnold Invite.
The BHS boys, meanwhile, won four events, claiming third behind Wahoo and Columbus Lakeview.
In two of the nine total event wins, coach Bryan Soukup's squad took second, too. Greta Galbraith and Sam Cemer earned a 1-2 sweep in the pole vault, clearing 9 feet, 7 inches and 9 feet, respectively.
Blair's Reece Ewoldt, Hailey Amandus and Kaitlynn Amandus, meanwhile, set the top three times of the 800-meter run. Ewoldt finished in 2:30.98, while Hailey crossed the line in 2:33.58 and Kaitlynn in 2:36.18.
Bears senior Erika Roehrs won the 300 hurdles, too, clocking in at 47.86 seconds.
Three of BHS' six total relay teams won gold as well. Sophia Baedke, Kaitlynn Amandus, Jadeyn Wickwire and Lainey Bilau first won the 3,200-meter team race in 10:18.36 before Hailey Amandus, Ewoldt, Wickwire and Makayla Baughman — who also earned top-four finishes in the shot put and discus — won the 1,600 relay in 4:17.32.
The Blair boys team of Ted Lueders, Zac Keeling, Nate Teager and Calin O'Grady, meanwhile, won the 3,200 relay in 8:41.9.
Nolan Slominski, Dawson Fricke and Ethan Belsky won individual events, too. Slominski won the 400-meter dash in 51.82 seconds, while Fricke led the 3,200 runners in 10:21.31.
Belsky got further off the ground than anyone else in the high jump, clearing a bar set at 6-1 to take first.
Toby Ray (1,600 relay), Brynn Lundgren (100 dash and 400 relay) and Audie Keeling (400 relay) left Schuyler on Thursday having contributed to top-three finishes alongside their aforementioned Bear teammates. After junior varsity meets on Monday and today, coach Soukup's athletes will next compete Thursday when they host the annual Mike Lehl Invitational. The meet begins at 1 p.m. on the track circling Krantz Field.
