Succession policy approved

The Blair Community Schools (BCS) Board of Education approved on first notification a change to the policy regarding succession of authority to the superintendent.

With the recent administration reassignments and hires for the 2021-22 school year, revisions were necessary.

The succession of authority to the superintendent will be: 1. executive director of operations; 2. executive director of learning.

Special education program receives donation

The BCS K-12 special education program received a donation of cubicles from Keller Williams Realty in Omaha.

The cubicles will be beneficial in preventing students from being distracted by what is going on around them, allowing them to achieve easier concentration.

The donation was arranged by Ryan O'Grady, director of special education and student services. The estimated value of the donation is $50,000.

River Wilds donates to BHS golf

Rivers Wilds Golf Course and golf pro Dakota Loudner donated six blue tees golf series 2 rangefinders to the BHS golf team.

The equipment will assist players in being more successful in competition.
