Blair High School cheerleaders Hayen Bosanek and Lexi Hilgenkamp earned their opportunity to perform during the Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade in Honolulu.
They claimed All-American status during a National Cheer Association Camp last June in Lincoln and will now participate in the Hawaii event next Wednesday. The parade marks the 81st anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.
“Hayen Bosanek and Lexi Hilgenkamp will perform with Varsity Spirit All-Americans in an exclusive performance prior to the opening ceremony of the parade, and then be apart of the parade before thousands of fans lining the streets of Waikiki Beach,” a Varsity Spirit Special Events release stated.
Overall, the BHS cheerleaders will partake in festivities Sunday through Dec. 9. They will celebrate and recognize veterans with their performances, but also meet cheerleaders and dancers from across the United States with trips to the Pearl Harbor Memorial as well as the USS Missouri Battleship.
Last winter, Bosanek also participated in cheers at the Citrus Bowl game in Orland, Fla. Both cheerleaders can be found on the sidelines of BHS winter sports events this season, too.
