The Blair baseball team celebrated Senior Night by skipping the seventh inning.
The Bears beat Crete 12-2 Thursday at Vets Field, ending the game by run-rule three outs early. Coach John Roan's team outhit the Cardinals 12-7 in six innings.
The night started with a 17-4 junior varsity win and the introduction of BHS' nine seniors — Brad Tonn, Cade Ulven, Canton Lippincott, Dex Larsen, Gherig Svendgard, Kaden Fletcher, Morgan Rump, Nolan Osterhaus and Wesley Gunderson.
From there, though, the Bears earned a 1-0 advantage and never trailed. Larsen tallied the first-inning RBI on a single swing. He finished with a team-high three RBIs during the 10-run win, while the freshman he scored — Brady Brown — tallied three hits.
Blair's J'shawn Unger, Ulven and Fletcher added two RBIs apiece, while Conner O'Neil and Brown notched one each. Osterhaus, Rump, Svendgard and Shea Wendt notched hits, too.
Rump pitched 5 1/3 innings and recorded six strikeouts, while Fletcher finished off the sixth frame with two more Ks. The win boosted the Bears' season record to 9-11, while Crete fell to 3-11.

Andersen, Bears beat Gross
Blair's Tyler Andersen struck out eight Omaha Gross batters over seven innings Wednesday, earning a 1-0 shutout victory on the Cougars' diamond.
The Bear allowed just four hits and walked just two batters, picking up the complete game win. He is 3-1 this season.
Coach Roan's team scored the game-winning run during the first inning. Osterhaus reached base on a four-pitch walk, stole second and eventually crossed home plate after a wild Gross pitch.
Larsen and Ulven added their own hits against the Cougars as their team picked up its eighth win of the season.
