Arlington Seniors win at SSC, 9-4

The Arlington Senior Legion baseball team improved to 3-6 Monday with a 9-4 win at South Sioux City.
Coach Tyler Stender reported a six-inning, five-strikeout victory for pitcher Blaine Vogt in the road game. Kaden Pittman hit 2-for-5 with a double and three RBIs, while Andy Misfeldt was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored.
The Eagles were back in action Wednesday against Tekamah-Herman and next compete June 14 against David City at the Washington County Faigrounds. That home game starts at 7 p.m.

Juniors beat SSC, too
The Arlington Juniors were also successful Monday at South Sioux City, claiming a 12-1 rout in just five innings.
After a 9-7 loss to Fort Calhoun during the Waterloo-Valley Tournament on Saturday, the Eagles also bounced back with victories against their hosts and Ashland. Coach Stender said the Juniors beat Valley 7-1 and Ashland 8-4 for third in the tourney on Sunday.
