AHS wrestlers finish 6th at Ord

Eagles go 0-5 in duals

Arlington's incomplete wrestling lineup went 0-for-6 Saturday during the Ord Holiday Dual Tournament.
Grand Island Northwest took first-place honors with a 5-0 mark, while the Eagles were 0-6. Coach Doug Hart's squad finished within 10 points of Bridgeport (42-36) and the host Chanticleers (42-34), but lost by wide margins to Adams Central (54-30), Conestoga (51-27) and the champion Vikings (63-18).
AHS seniors Hunter Gilmore and Josh Miller were the two most successful Eagles, combining for a 6-0 record in contested matches. Gilmore was 4-0 at 145 pounds, finishing as one of seven wrestlers in Ord with four pins. The three-time state medalist spent just 8:42 on the mat Saturday.
Miller, meanwhile, earned a second-period pin and a 9-1 major decision in his two matches at 170 pounds.
Arlington's Trey Hill, Aiden McDuffee, Trevor Cooley, Kolton Gilmore, Trinton McDuffee, Cade Podany and JoeSeth McBride also scored Eagle team points by match wins or forfeits in Ord. Aiden McDuffee won a 2-0 decision at 113 pounds, while McBride notched a pin each at 220 and 285.
