Arlington wrestlers Ireland Erixon, Kelise Krivohlavek and Jaydin Allen medaled Friday as the Eagles' girls team finished 10th out of 20 scoring teams at the Wahoo Invitational.
Erixon sealed a third-place finish at 120 pounds with a second-period pin against West Point-Beemer's Jaden Schultz, while both Krivohlavek and Allen also earned pins during their 125- and 145-pound fifth-place matches, respectively.
The Eagles finished with 61 team points, while first-place South Sioux City won with 283.
Krivohlavek scored AHS' first win of the hometown Warriors' tournament by 26-second pin before Allen won her first match by fall in 2:41. Carly Segebart, who went 2-2 at 155 pounds for the night, highlighted the round, though.
The Eagle beat Addison Wolff of Fillmore Central by second-period pin after she was nearly pinned twice herself.
“It was just, kind of, instinct,” Segebart said when asked how she kept her shoulders off of the mat. “I have older siblings who used to wrestle, so they've given me pointers over the years.”
At one point, the 155-pounder created a bridge with her head and feet to avoid a pin. She continued out of the predicament, scored a reversal and ultimately won the match.
“I knew that, if I keep working hard, there's the possibility of me getting the win,” Segebart said.
AHS' Teagan Taylor and Caitlyn Camp also earned wins in Wahoo before they were eliminated from medal contention.
