AHS girls place 4th at Arlington Invite

Hill tops boys 113-pound podium

For the first time in its history, the Arlington Invite featured both boys and girls divisions vying for a tournament championship.
The Arlington girls wrestling team tied for fourth at the invite Saturday, accumulating 74 points behind two championship efforts.
Kelise Krivohlavek (156) ran through the 125-pound division with four pins, two of which came within the first minute of the first period. She capped her flawless outing with a pin in the championship against Kianna Wingender of Bennington in 5:10.
Jaydin Allen (12-7) joined Krivohlavek on top, winning the 145-pound division, also pinning all three opponents along the way. She stuck Lincoln Northwest's CadiJohn Rivera in 2:19 to earn first and 24 points for the Eagles.
Carly Segebart (6-5) narrowly missed her own first-place finish at 155-pounds, earning pins in 1:23 and 5:01 in the first two rounds, respectively, before dropping the championship match via 17-2 tech fall to Lincoln Northwest's Feryal Akpo-Idrissou.
Teagan Taylor earned medal status at fourth place in the 155-pound division. She bounced back from a first round pin, scoring a fall in the following round over Elkhorn's Kylie Painter. She won the next consolation match via forfeit over teammate Caitlyn Camp before dropping the third-place match against Millard South's Emma Walton.

Hill earns first as AHS boys finish 7th at Arlington Invite
The Arlington Boys amassed 74 points throughout the Saturday tournament, which earned them 7th in the 12-team field.
Trey Hill, the Eagles' standout at 113 pounds, capitalized on his first-place finish at the Jack Murray Wrestling Invite the week prior by again winning his weight class. Hill (22-5) began his run through the 113 weight class with an 18-5 major decision in the first round quarterfinals over Elkhorn North's Tyson Philbrick and another major, 17-6, in the semifinals against North Bend Central's Cashtin Stanek. Hill climbed to the top of the podium with a 7-3 decision over Brandon Wilson, Douglas County West.
AHS' 120-pounder Aiden McDuffee (4-3) also found himself in the final match in his weight class. He began the day with pins in the first two rounds over Wahoo's Jayse Styskal and North Bend Central's Clayton Strong. He dropped the championship match via a 17-1 tech fall but still earned the Eagles 18 team points.
Tanner Kyllo (6-4) earned medal status at 126 pounds, going 2-2 and earning a pin over Elkhorn's Iden Merritt in the consolation semi-finals to advance to the third-place match. He'd finish fourth after being pinned by North Bend Central's Zac Mullally.
Jake Flesner, AHS' 106-pounder, also placed fourth after pinning his opponent in the consolation semi-finals and losing via 4-3 decision in the third-place match.
Kolton Gilmore got off to a hot start at 152 with a first-round pin and a win via decision in the quarterfinals before dropping matches in the semifinals and consolation semifinals. Ben Flesner, 160 pounds, too advanced to the semifinals with a pin in the first round and win via medical forfeit in the quarterfinals.
