The Arlington girls basketball team lost Tuesday's home game to Wisner-Pilger, 55-30.
The Eagles fell to 3-6 in defeat, while the Gators improved to 6-3 with the 25-point road victory. Coach Luke Brenn's AHS squad has lost three games in a row after winning three straight to reach 3-3.
The home team fell behind early despite first-period points from Kate Miller, Taylor Arp and Britt Nielsen. Miller, a senior, scored the first two points from the foul line after Wisner scored just 12 seconds into the game.
Arp, a sophomore, then scored Arlington's first field goal. She stole the ball and made a 2-foot basket to put the Eagles ahead, 4-3.
The Gators scored the next five points, but Nielsen's fast-break bucket pulled her team back within 8-6. AHS allowed the next five points to end the first quarter, however, falling behind 13-6 and eventually dropping their first game of 2022 by 25 points.
The Eagles next play today at Raymond Central before Saturday's game at Fremont Bergan. The game against the neighboring Knights is set for first tip at 4:30 p.m.
