The weight of a five-game losing streak was off of the Arlington boys basketball team's shoulders after Friday's home contest against Syracuse.
The Eagles (7-9 overall) won the Nebraska Capitol Conference Tournament consolation game, 51-33.
“There was definitely a relief feeling, but we know there are things we have to improve on,” AHS coach Tyler Spitser said. “Back to work on Monday.”
Dustin Kirk, meanwhile, put in work against the Rockets (3-13). The Arlington senior guard scored a game-high 23 points, notching eight during the Eagles' 15-2 first quarter.
AHS also held leads of 27-15 at halftime and 35-23 after three periods. Logan Kaup added nine points, while Colby Grefe had seven.
Syracuse's Cooper Carlson, meanwhile, scored 10 points in defeat.
The Eagles next compete tonight against Fort Calhoun. The home game is set for a 7:30 p.m. opening tip.
