AHS boys basketball loses lead to Bergan

The Fremont Bergan boys basketball team outscored Arlington 36-23 over the course of fourth period and overtime Saturday, besting the Eagles 59-52.
After a low-scoring first half, AHS (6-5 overall) scored 16 third-quarter points and took a 29-23 lead into the final period. The host Kinights then outscored the coach Tyler Spitser's squad 23-17 during the last 8 minutes of regulation to push for extra time.
From there, Bergan dominated, outscoring Arlington 13-6 for a seven-point victory.
Before visiting the Knights, however, the Eagles beat Raymond Central by 18, 55-37. They led the Friday night contest 14-12 after one period and 28-21 after two before dominating the second half, 27-16.
Dustin Kirk led AHS offensively, scoring 18 points, while Colby Grefe notched 14. Barrett Nielsen scored seven points and Logan Kaup had six as coach Spitser's squad earned its sixth win of the season.
Isaak Fredrickson led the Mustangs in defeat with 10 points, too.
