Blair High School's activities director, Dan Hutsell, has resigned.

Blair Community Schools Superintendent Dr. Randall Gibson announced the news Saturday.

Hutsell was transported to the hospital Nov. 30 due to a non-work related medical emergency.

“Due to strict confidentiality and personnel laws, the District is not able to provide any further information about Mr. Hutsell at this time, except that Mr. Hutsell's wife gave permission this morning for the District to share that his condition has improved to the point that he is able to walk and talk at this time. However, Mr. Hutsell has decided that it is best for him and his family to resign from employment with Blair Community Schools.”

Hutsell took over the role in July 2020. He previously served as the vocal music instructor and director of choral activities and was with the school since 2005.

Tom Anderson will take over Mr. Hutsell's responsibilities as activities director.
