4 Pioneers claim wrestling medals at home

Olberdings claim titles at Boys Town, too

Fort Calhoun Pioneers wrestled in two locations Saturday.
While FCHS hosted a junior varsity tournament, Ely and Lance Olberding competed at the 50th Boys Town Invitational.
At home, Ethan Shaner earned top honors for the Pioneers. He was second at 152 pounds, pinning Cooper Davis of Millard North and Omaha Bryan's Jordan Juma to reach the finals where he was pinned by Omaha Westside's Sonihiner D. Hiner.
Aaron Duros and Grant Nixon, meanwhile, claimed third place at 120 and 182 pounds, respectively. Duros won his third-place match by third-period pin, while Nixon finished his off during the first.
Fort Calhoun 195-pounder Mason Touring added a fourth-place finish on his home mats.
In Boys Town, the Olberdings combined to go 7-0, earning both of their weight classes' first-place honors.
Ely Olberding was 4-0 at 113 pounds. The sophomore earned two pins, a 9-2 decision and a 8-0 major decision for the title.
Lance Olberding, meanwhile, was 3-0 at 120 pounds. He won all three matches by pin, including one that took just 29 seconds.
