33 county student athletes recognized for academic success

Fall All-State Awards were announced earlier this month

Washington County high school athletes were recently recognized for their academic success with the release of the Nebraska Chiropractic Physicians Association (NCPA) Academic All-State Awards for the 2020 fall season.
Each year, the NSAA and NCPA recognize student athletes and activity participants for their academic achievements, leadership and activity contributions with the awards.
The Blair, Arlington and Fort Calhoun honorees were nominated by their schools. They are as follows.

BLAIR
Cross-country: Mason Bell, Nick Wayman, Emily Lamoureux and Mary Roskens.
Football: Lance Acker and Nolan Ulrich.
Golf: Anna Moore and Kaia Stewart.
Softball: Julia Saylor and Carmen Warrick.
Volleyball: Emma Cada and Carley Damme.

ARLINGTON
Cross-country: Colby Grefe, Barrett Nielsen and Brynn Eckhart.
Football: Josh Miller and Braden Monke.
Golf: Charlie Hendry and Ema Horner.
Play production: Stella Lewis.
Softball: Julia Landauer and Kiersten Taylor.
Volleyball: Claire Allen and Kailynn Gubbels.

FORT CALHOUN
Cross-country: John McKennan, Jacob Rupp and Tess Skelton.
Football: Jayce Douchey and Jayden Hunter.
Softball: Katie Barta and Kenzie Hansen.
Volleyball: Kaitlin Smith and Rianna Wells.

The Washington County students to make the Academic All-State list were 33 of the 2,564 award winners at Nebraska schools this past fall. In total, more than 81,000 have been honored through the program, which has spanned 15 years.
