The high school athletes of Washington County don’t miss.
It’s Nannen & Harte Physical Therapy Athlete of the Week time and I had another seven days of excellence to make my selections from. The following three standouts represent their schools today before I pick the overall Athlete of the Week for Wednesday’s interview.

Leah Chance, Blair softball: The Bears returned to the NSAA State Championships this past week and the second baseman led her them at the plate. The junior notched six hits, a homer and six RBIs as BHS took third in Class B.

Keelianne Green, Arlington cross-country: The Eagles’ senior state champ has her opportunity to contend for a second title this Friday. First, though, she won her district race at Sycamore Farms last week, running 5 kilometers in 19:36.04.

Raegen Wells, Fort Calhoun: The Pioneer standout played a key role during her team’s three-match Nebraska Capitol Conference Tournament run. She finished the week with a 96% serving percentage, and had three aces, 19 kills, four assists and 25 digs.

Make sure you tell anyone who’ll listen about these three athletes this week and congratulate them on their efforts when you see them. Thanks for reading.
