There’s a couple of good stories behind this week’s Nannen & Harte Physical Therapy Athletes of the Week.
There are brief descriptions below, but the full stories play out on the pages of our Enterprise Media Group newspapers. A lot of good reading material and a lot of exceptional efforts from Emme Time, Austin Welchert and Abigail James.

Emme Timm, Arlington basketball: The Eagles freshman had two bigs games in two big wins last week for another Athlete of the Week honor. She set a new single-game record for assists (12) against Fort Calhoun before scoring 16 against Conestoga.

Austin Welchert, Fort Calhoun basketball: The senior guard got hot from behind the 3-point line against Arlington last Tuesday. He had a team best 15 points total, too, as the Pioneers.

Abigail James, Blair wrestling: The Blair wrestler became the first-ever Washington County high school wrestler to qualify for the NSAA Girls State Championships on Saturday. She finished fourth at districts in Fremont and will next compete at the CHI Health Center in Omaha.

In addition, I’d like to use this space to give a special shoutout to Thomas Chikos. The Blair wrestler had two dual-deciding victories Saturday in Kearney during the state dual tournament. He’d have been an easy Athlete of the Week if it weren’t for his fellow wrestler making school and county history.
Make sure you congratulate Thomas this week as well as Emme, Austin and Abigail for their successes. Thanks.
